Hi, my name is Sandy Nieves Mansen, founder and creator of Bee Plug, a simple solution designed for irrigation valve boxes.
I’ve been part of the landscape industry for more than 30 years, working alongside my father at Nieves Landscape.
The inspiration for Bee Plug came to me while I was sitting in an irrigation class. A city inspector mentioned how often bees build nests inside valve boxes and how, without a better solution, the bees often have to be removed or exterminated, costing the City time and money. That was my light-bulb moment!
With the support and help of my husband, we began developing Bee Plug, a simple, practical solution.
I’m proud to continue following in my father’s footsteps in the landscape field while also starting a new chapter as an inventor, entrepreneur, and small-business owner.
